B.o.S. SOMEHOW MANAGES TO KEEP TO CAMPAIGN PROMISES FOR ONE WEEK

As a quick follow up to yesterday’s post about how ridiculously high some people’s salaries are in the public sector here in Humboldt, I think it’s important that we all celebrate a HUGE milestone for 2015 Board of Supervisor’s meetings.

Of course, I am talking about the fact that for almost the first time in 2015 (that’s 1 out of roughly 14 B.o.S. meetings) the Board did NOT hear a proposal to alter (a.k.a. raise) the salary of a county employee at the past’s week B.o.S. meeting.

Gotta acknowledge such an unprecedented achievement, don’t ya think?

If you go through all the agenda’s from this year, you’ll see what I am talking about. If you can give me an exact number of times that a request for salary “modification” or an increase in “extra help hours” that have gone before the board this year, then you’ll get a treat!

Don’t forget we need your help to find a groovy name for the weekly piece we’ll be doing about wage inequality here in Humboldt – you’ll get something out of it too!
